Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jason Steven Allen for fleeing police and driving with a canceled driver’s license. The arrest came in connection with a four-mile chase Tuesday night near Oakland.

The chase began after a suspicious vehicle was reported at an abandoned farmhouse, said Freeborn County sheriff’s detective Chuck Malepsy. When deputies responded, they found a vehicle that fit close to the description of the suspicious vehicle.

After deputies pulled over the vehicle and found out that Allen had a canceled driver’s license, they reportedly told him he was going to be arrested. Allen then drove away at a fast speed in the car, reaching speeds of up to 80 mph.

He eventually pulled over near his parent’s home, the sheriff’s log states. The sheriff’s log listed the intersection of 880th Avenue and 230th Street. It is unclear if this is where the chase started or ended.
