Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services welcomes a new staff member. Judy Popp-Anderson will be the funeral home’s aftercare coordinator.
Popp-Anderson thought it would be a perfect fit for her after experiencing the compassion of the Bonnerup staff where her husband passed.
“Judy is a wonderful addition to our staff,” Steve Merfeld, funeral director, said. “She has a wealth of experience to draw from and her own experience with personal loss helps her as she supports others who are going through the loss of a loved one.”
For more than 40 years, Popp-Anderson has worked in various areas of behavioral health care. She is licensed as a clinical social worker and as an alcohol and drug counselor. She graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor of arts degree in education, mathematics and theology. She later received her master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Moorhead State University.
She is an active member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and serves on the Parish Council as a Eucharistic minister and hospital visitor. She is a co-facilitator for the cancer support group, participates in the Relay for Life as a cancer survivor and is a member of the Freeborn County Crisis Response Team. In her free time she enjoys walking and visiting with family and friends.
