The good vibes coming from the stage of “Happy Days: A New Musical” is contagious. Got the summertime blues? Go see this show. It’ll get anyone back on track.

The cast has plenty of young actors who provide energy and spunk. Teacher Diane Heaney shines in her role as Mrs. Cunningham, a character who overcomes boredom as a housewife with a special surprise near the end of the show.

Even though the songs aren’t well-known, they are catchy tunes in the 1950s bubble-gum style. Audiences, of course, will recognize the theme song from “Happy Days.”

We are glad Marion Ross, who played Mrs. C on the TV show, came for opening night of the musical at the local theater that bears her name, the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. It’s always news when she is town.

But celebrity news aside, we urge our readers to get a ticket to the show because the cast and crew have put together a remarkable performance. This is one of those productions in our town you don’t want to miss.

Many nights this week are close to sold out, so getting your tickets for next week now would be wise. Visit www.actonbroadway.com or call the box office at 377-4371.
