Erika Sorenson and Brandon Goette announce their engagement.

The bride is the daughter of Russell and Darcy Sorenson of Ashby. Grandparents are Dorothy Sorenson and the late Arlen Sorenson of Ashby and Tom Murray and Waiva Murray, both of Battle Lake. Great-grandmother is Minnie Neubauer of Wendell.

The groom is the son of Gary and Karen Goette of Albert Lea. Grandparents are Jerry and Delores Goette of Bricelyn and the late Ole Marlowe and Margaret Olson.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Ashby High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a degree in animal science. She is employed by USDA Livestock & Grain Market News in Worthing, S.D.

The groom is a 2006 graduate of Albert Lea High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a degree in crops and soil science. He is employed as the variable rate technology specialist for Country Pride Co-op in Menno, S.D.

A July 27, 2013, wedding is planned at Peace Lutheran Church in Ashby.
