The resurfacing and culvert replacement on U.S. Highway 69 from Minnesota Highway 13 to the Iowa border has been delayed a week because of saturated ditches, according to a news release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The highway will close beginning Monday.

Motorists will be detoured to Freeborn County Road 46, Freeborn County Road 14, Freeborn County Road 17 and Freeborn County Road 14.

The detour is necessary while crews replace culverts, and will remain in place for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.

Once the detour is lifted, flaggers will control traffic throughout the remainder of project, which is scheduled to continue through late August.

Ulland Brothers, Inc., is the prime contractor for the $4.6 million project.
