The Humane Society of Freeborn County will hold a Buckets on Broadway fundraiser from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday on the corners of Broadway and Main.

The shelter is raising funds for general operating costs, which include veterinary expenses, special needs during kitten season, surgeries for cats and other expenses.

The shelter would also like to dedicate some funds to five large walk-in cat cages that will complete the cat room when purchased.

The fundraising goal is $10,000. The shelter’s director, Christa Stieler, will get a pie in the face if that amount is raised.

Shelter volunteers encourage people to visit them downtown on Friday to help them raise $10,000 to support animals.
