Kay Matson, 90, of Wells, died on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Parkview Care Center in Wells. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the North Blue Earth Lutheran Church in Brush Creek. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. The Rev. Nancy Dreier will officiate and interment will be in North Blue Earth cemetery following the service. Kathryn Eliza Matson was born on Feb. 12, 1923, in Cuthbert, S.D., the daughter of Benjamin and Grace (Piper) Parker. She graduated on May 29, 1940, at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D. She was united in marriage to Abe (Budd) Johnson on Jan. 23, 1941, together they had two children Judy and Robert (Buzzy) Johnson. On March 30, 1968, she was married to Harvey Matson.

Kay is survived by daughter, Judy (Stanley) Stover; grandchildren, Randy Stover of Tokyo, Japan, Richard (Angie) Stover of Story City, Iowa, Sandy (Bob) Hanna of Geneva, Scott (Shelly) Johnson of Minnesota Lake, Jill (Peter) Walsh of Minnesota Lake and Lori (Jason) Linsmeier of Mankato; great-grandchildren, Amanda Hanna of Geneva, Spencer Hanna of Geneva, Nicholas Stover of Story City, Becky (James) Reams of Fort Drum, N.Y., James Stover of Florence, Ky., Hunter Johnson and Dustin Johnson, Ciara Walsh and Connor Walsh of Minnesota Lake and Robbie Linsmeier and Evan Linsmeier of Mankato.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; sister, Dorothy Watt; three brothers, Joseph, Lloyd and George Parker; son, Robert (Buzzy); daughter-in-law, Anita (Roessler) Johnson; and her great-granddaughter, Stephanie Hanna.
