Funeral services for Margaret Lorraine Munsch age 84 of Albert Lea, formerly of Wells, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Church of St. Theodore. The Rev. Timothy Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Burial will be at St. Casimir’s Catholic Cemetery, Wells. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Lorraine died on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Thorne Crest Retirement Community.
Margaret Lorraine Munsch was born on June 5, 1929, in Waseca, the daughter of Thomas and Iva McDonough. She attended and graduated from Janesville High School. On Nov. 25, 1952 Lorraine was united in marriage to Marvin Munsch at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waseca. The couple resided in Freeborn where Marvin managed the Huntting Elevator for many years, during this time Lorraine was a homemaker. She was a nurse’s aide at the Waseca Hospital and also worked for E.F. Johnson in Waseca. After Marvin’s death she moved to Wells where she was a member of St. Casimir’s Catholic Church. Lorraine enjoyed entertaining friends and relatives in her home. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Before she moved to Thorne Crest she was an active member of the Freeborn County ARC, St. Theodore’s Catholic Church and a volunteer for Loaves and Fishes.
Lorraine is survived by her son, Jim, and his wife, Carrie Munsch of Albert Lea, three grandchildren, Andy Munsch, Jaime and her husband, Matt Bukrey, and Jenna and her husband, Austin Winberg, and great-grandchildren Greta and Elsa Bukrey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin, brother Ivan in infancy and sister Elaine Evans.
