United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women met July 3. Ruth Vermedahl of Just Three Circle introduced Clemencia Gujral. Gujral spoke of using yoga to benefit physical and mental health.

President Jerry Horswell opened the meeting with prayer and the UMW purpose and thanked Just Three Circle for the program and Hope Circle for serving.

Secretary JoAnn Seuser read the June minutes, correspondence and circle attendance reports. The treasurer’s report was given by Vermedahl who reminded members to collect L and G dollars at circle meetings.

Spiritual Growth chairwoman Adean Turner gave readings relating to the Fourth of July holiday.

Educational and Interpreation chair Fern Urbatsch told of an article in the World Outlook magazine about the Roma people.

Sharon Nelson, social action chairwoman, spoke of the climate change throughout the world and how it affects all of us.

The United Methodist Church Women, along with Carol Lang, hosted a tour of Lang’s garden from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Coffee and dessert were served at United Methodist Church. The public was invited.

The next meeting will be Sept. 4 with coffee at 9:30 a.m. and the program at 10 a.m.

The Martha Circle will be in charge of the program and Mary Grace Circle will serve.
