Poverty workshop slated for Aug. 12

The United Way of Freeborn County, Freeborn County Family Services Collaborative and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota will host an informative workshop Aug. 12 at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club to educate the community on how to work better to minimize efforts of poverty and improve community opportunities for low income families.

There are two times for the workshop. One will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and the other will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The day workshop will focus on targeting human resources staff, parent educators, school staff, human services, medical centers, police officers, firefighters, clergy and agencies.

The evening workshop will be targeted for day care providers and others who could not go to the other session.
