Thomas John Neilon, 59, of Northfield died on Monday, July 22, 2013, after a long struggle with heart disease.

He is survived by the people he laughed with, lived with and loved. He was the beloved husband of Andrene Matre; dear father of Sarah (Nick) DiGregorio, Mindy Neilon (Nick Williamson), Mike (Erin) Neilon and step-father to Jeanne (Nate) Olund; loving grandfather of Kaya, Giavanna, Lillian, Cullen and Charlie; son of Lillian Jensen; brother to Jean, Pat (Cheryl), Brent, Paul (Debbie) and Alan Neilon; and nephew to Arnie Tanner. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, William Neilon.

Tom loved spending time in northern Minnesota fishing and playing dominos, cribbage and pig, which somehow always ended in his favor. He always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren, and he is fondly remembered for his joyous spirit and boisterous laugh. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and relatives.

A celebration of life will be from 3 to 9 p.m. with a 6 p.m. remembrance ceremony on Friday at the home of Mike and Erin Neilon, 2215 Stone Creek Lane E. Chanhassen, MN, 55317.
