Church set for after-school program

Beginning on Sept. 11, First Presbyterian Church of Albert Lea will begin another year of its Wednesday after-school program, called KidZone.

The program runs from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, following the school calendar, and is for children attending school in kindergarten through fifth-grade. Children can ride the bus from their school to the bus hub at Southwest Middle School and then ride a bus to the church for KidZone.

Each week the children come and have snacks, play games, worship together, listen to object lessons, and attend a one of four classrooms each week (drama or bakery, crafts, movie, or the computer room). They end up the evening at 5:30 with a balanced, light dinner. There is no charge to attend KidZone or for the dinner and all kids are invited to attend. Registration forms are available at the church. For more information, call Dean Christianson at First Pres at 373-2035.
