The Southeastern Minnesota Chamber Orchestra will begin rehearsals for its fourth season at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Albert Lea High School band room. The orchestra will hold regular rehearsals each Sunday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The SEMNCO will perform four concerts this year with the first being the annual POPS concert, featuring music from the stage and screen. This concert will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 in the Albert  Lea High School auditorium. Ticket information will be available in September.

The SEMNCO is seeking additional musicians and welcomes anyone interested to contact the music director, Brock Besse, at 507-318-0801 or email bbesse@charter.net. The following instruments are needed at this time; bass clarinet, bassoon II, trumpet III, bass trombone, violin I, violin II, viola, cello and bass. Interested individuals are invited to play for all concerts of the season, but do not need to commit to the full season until they feel comfortable playing with the ensemble. Even if musicians haven’t played their instruments for a few years they are encouraged to bring it out, play some scales and get back into the joy of playing with an orchestra.
