Paul Seadlund, 80, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Paul Richard Seadlund, of Albert Lea, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea.

Paul died on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was 80 years old.

Paul was born May 22, 1933, in Crow Wing County, the son of Donald and Caroline Shipman. He graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School and the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis.

On June 11, 1955, he was united in marriage to Joyce Wilmot in Brainerd.

Paul had been employed as an estimator draftsman for many years with Diekema Construction and RCR construction in Albert Lea where he had been a resident since 1974. He was an active member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and the Albert Lea Eagles Club.

Paul enjoyed trips to the casino, hunting, fishing, playing cards and board games, the Minnesota Twins and his morning coffee group.

He is survived by his children, Jeri Weiss of Albert Lea; Chris and his wife Kim Seadlund of Albert Lea, Mickey and her husband John Markham of Oronoco and Wade and his special friend Mona Wacholz of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Kendra Nelson (special friend Ben Ousky), Dana (Jake) Brenhaug, Kacey Pagel (special friend Lucas Johnson), Paige (Jesse) Larson and Tara Seadlund; great-grandchildren, Makenzie Johnson, Hunter Johnson and Riann Brenhaug; two sisters, Barbara (Joe) Klein of Brainerd and Carol Storm of Brainerd; one brother, Donnie (Nancy) Shipman of Brainerd; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Waller of Freemont, Calif.; and Paul’s special friend Shirley Christensen of Albert Lea.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Joyce.
