MANKATO — The Minnesota State Patrol says its recent speed enforcement campaign netted at least a dozen drivers doing over 100 mph.

Troopers wrote more than 17,000 speeding tickets during the two-week statewide enforcement effort last month. The State Patrol said the speediest speeder got a ticket in the Mankato district for going 148 mph. A driver in the Marshall district wasn’t far behind at 114 mph.

An average speeding citation for 10 mph over the limit can cost you $120. Those ticketed for doing more than 100 mph can lose their license for six months.
