MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Twins announced they traded infielder Jamey Carroll to the Kansas City Royals for a player to be named later or cash, according to a press release.

In 59 games this season with the Twins, Carroll hit .230 with six doubles and nine RBI. Carroll has spent part of 12 seasons in Major League Baseball.
