Funeral services for Viola Schweertman, 90, of Hollandale, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hollandale Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Michael Bentley will officiate. Viola died on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea.

Viola Schweertman was born Dec. 18, 1922, to Harm and Dena (DeRaad) Nienoord in Bradford, Iowa. She was 2 years old when the family moved to Hollandale in 1924. She attended grade school in Hollandale. On Jan. 29, 1953, she was united in marriage to Henry Schweertman in Hollandale.

She worked for more than 30 years at the Hollandale Marketing Association. She was a member of the Hollandale Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary E. Cincotta; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew, Samantha and Selena; former sons-in-law, Dominic A. Cincotta and Michael P. Legato. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; her brothers, Jack (Minnie), Engel (Jean) and Harm (Ione) Nienoord; and sisters, Grace (Sidney) Dale, Ida (Orville) Johnston, Ann (Herman) Boelman, Dena (Alvin) Tavis, Nancy (Viggo) Christensen and Minnie (Russell “Buzzie”) Lerum.

Any memorials are preferred to the Hollandale Christian Reformed Church.
