Samantha Leah Freeman, 25, faces allegations of second- and third-degree assault, along with one count of misdemeanor domestic assault.

Freeborn County District Court documents state Freeman allegedly hit her boyfriend in the head with a hammer and broke his tooth before reportedly stabbing him in the chest and back with a screwdriver during an altercation at 1208 St. Joseph Ave.

The incident reportedly took place after Freeman and her boyfriend had been playing pool together earlier in the evening and got into an argument.

The victim, who had gone to the emergency room at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, at first denied that Freeman had injured him. But after hearing that she was accusing him of an injury to her hand, he then attributed his injuries to her.

Three separate witnesses also reportedly saw Freeman with a screwdriver, according to court records.

Freeman is out of the Freeborn County jail on bond.
