Ardis Knutson, 84, Bricelyn

Ardis P. Knutson, 84, of Bricelyn, died on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church in Bricelyn. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. The Rev. Nancy Dreier will officiate and interment will be in United Lutheran Cemetery, Emerald Township in Faribault County. Please see www.brussheitner.com to leave online condolences. Ardis Pauline Knutson was born July 31, 1929, the daughter of Ole A. and Christine (Aasheim) Helland in Bricelyn. On Oct. 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to Russell W. Knutson at Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Frost. Ardis was a type setter at Blue Earth Post (currently Faribault County Register). After retirement she was happy to spend her winters in Arizona. She was a member of Bricelyn Lutheran Church and the Bricelyn American Legion Auxiliary. Ardis enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. In her free time she loved camping, bird watching and being with her family.
Ardis is survived by her children, Nancy (Mario) Carrillo of Minneapolis, Bonnie Knutson of Bricelyn, Cheri (Rich) Jensen of Kiester and Neil (Shari) Knutson of Karlstad; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Frances Helland of Blue Earth and Marlys Knutson of Woodbury; along with several nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; and one brother, Erling.
