Austin man injured in I-90 crash

PETRAN — A 22-year-old Austin man was seriously injured Sunday night after he reportedly ran his car off Interstate 90 and rolled multiple times near the Petran exit.
The State Patrol report states alcohol played a factor in the crash.
Felix Infante was transported to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester for his injuries. His condition this morning was unknown.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Infante was driving westbound on I-90 in a 2011 Kia Rio when he took the exit ramp to Freeborn County Road 46, left the roadway and rolled his car.
The crash was reported at 9:23 p.m. The Petran exit is about 2 1/2 miles east of Hayward near the KOA Kampground and a freeway bridge over the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Gold Cross ambulance and Hayward and Albert Lea fire departments assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The State Patrol report indicates Infante was wearing his seat belt.
Infante had no passengers in his automobile. The roadway was dry at the time of the crash.
The Kia Rio is a subcompact automobile with four doors and sometimes a hatchback.
