A BB gun reportedly was the weapon of choice following a heated argument at a local bar.

Albert Lea police arrested Juan Antonio Vazquez Cruz, 24, for second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, driving after revocation, having an uncased firearm and not having proof of insurance after a reported altercation at Chubby’s on Broadway, 1119 S. Broadway, at 11:18 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police, there was a verbal altercation inside the bar between Cruz and some others. Bouncers asked him to leave, and he reportedly threatened them with a beer bottle. He then retrieved a BB gun from his car, according to police, and flashed it at the bouncers. Reports state he was pulled over on a traffic stop at 1100 S. Broadway near the bar.
