Joel Twedt, of Twedt Financial Services in Lake Mills, was recently awarded the Samuel R. Weems Award in St. Paul. Twedt was nominated for the award by his colleagues.

The Samuel R. Weems Award was established by Securian Financial Group in 2003 to recognize a Securian adviser or managing partner for his or her contributions to the Million Dollar Round Table.

Twedt earned MDRT membership for the 28 of the 34 years he has been a financial adviser and achieved elite status within the organization, first as a member of the Court of the Table and then the Top of the Table, an exclusive forum.

MDRT, which has 38,000 members worldwide, was founded in 1927 by a small group of life insurance agents to foster professionalism in the industry.
