A 73-year-old man was found dead Saturday afternoon on the northwest side of Pickerel Lake near the dam after he reportedly went duck hunting earlier that morning but didn’t return home.

A Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office news release states family and friends went looking for Orrie Eugene Jirele of Albert Lea after he didn’t come home.

The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of his death at 5:51 p.m.

Jirele was found to have died from natural causes, according to the investigation.
