Several agencies respond to bar fight on Saturday

Charges are pending against a man after a reported fight in the alley behind the Emmons American Legion Saturday night.

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports stated dispatchers received a call at 11 p.m. Saturday of between 30 to 45 people fighting behind the bar.

Detective Chuck Malepsy said it turned out only about four people were fighting.

One man was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea after he was struck in the head with a beer bottle.

The name of the man that is expected to be charged has not been released.

Police and deputies from Albert Lea, Freeborn County and other nearby Iowa agencies responded.
