NORTHWOOD — Northwood stabbing victim Rhonda Schukei, 48, has been upgraded to fair condition, according to a St. Marys Hospital spokeswoman this morning.

Schukei was airlifted to the hospital Sunday night after she was allegedly stabbed and beaten by Michael Lee Zubrod, 39, of Charles City, Iowa, at 208 Fourth St. N.

Zubrod died after being placed into custody. The Worth County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating.
