The Albert Lea volleyball team stayed undefeated Tuesday as it swept Waseca 3-0.

The Tigers built a 2-0 lead in the match with a 25-14 Game 1 win and a 25-17 Game 2 win.

However, Waseca took a 21-14 lead in Game 3. Albert Lea rallied with an 11-3 run to win the game and the match.

“I was pumped the way the team responded in Game 3 after a slow start,” Albert Lea head coach Lisa Deyak said. “They showed a tremendous amount of character and poise.”

Albert Lea’s Annie Ladwig had a team-high 15 kills, and middle hitters Taylor Willis and Cassie Hardies combined with four blocks.

Next, Albert Lea will host Owatonna at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
