Arthur Olson, 85, Fishers, Ind.

Arthur “Art” O. Olson, 85, of Fishers, Ind., died on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville, Ind. He was born on May 12, 1928, to Lynn and Olina (Thompson) Olson in Wallace, S.D.
Art retired from Quaker Oats Co. serving many years with Stokely-Van Camp where he worked in finance. He served in the U.S. Marines Corps during the Korean War and was a graduate of Mankato Commercial College and Minnesota School of Business. Being a very civic minded person, he was very active in the Minnesota Junior Chamber of Commerce and also involved in many levels with different Lutheran churches throughout the years. He was a very kind and caring man who always put God and his family first.
He is survived by daughters, Nancy (Tom) Francescon of Fishers and Karen (Tom) Ortel of Mebane, N.C.; son, David (Patti) Olson of Indianapolis, Ind.; sister, Avonne Anderson of Owatonna; brother, Arvin (Grace) Olson of Urbandale, Iowa; and grandchildren, Brooke A. Francescon and Tommy A. Francescon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, F. Irene Olson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, 10055 East 186th St., in Noblesville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with an additional visitation on Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service. The Rev. Adrian Piazza will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
