Local student receives fellowship
Casey Stanley of Albert Lea, a third-year law student at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, has been awarded one of eight Benjamin B. Ferencz Fellowship in Human Rights and Law fellowships. Stanley will focus his work on multidisciplinary research identifying the legal and political requirements and obstacles to United States ratification of the International Criminal Court and strategies to overcome these challenges. He will work with John Washburn, Covener of AMICC, a coalition for the ICC at Columbia University’s Institute for the Study of Human Rights in New York.
