Celebration of Life: Arden Christianson

A celebration of life in memory of Arden Christianson will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Silver Lake Church in Northwood.
Arden Christianson, 80, of Northwood, died on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.
Arden was born on April 3, 1933, in Worth County. He was raised around the Silver Lake area.
Arden was an Army veteran. He boxed in the service and then went on to coach Golden Glove Boxing in Albert Lea in the late 60s and early 70s.
He married Marlene Freeman in 1955 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. From that marriage four children were born.
Arden worked for Larson Manufacturing for 20 years as plant manager and then in sales. He also had a blacktopping business for several years. After retiring he enjoyed being around Northwood, visiting and spending time with his family and friends, playing the penny machines at the casino and laughing and talking to everyone.
Arden is survived by his four children Terry (Deb) Christianson, Lake Mills, Candy Sterrenberg, Fertile, Iowa, Rick Christianson, Mason City and Randy Christianson, Joice, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Arden will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He will forever be in their hearts.
