MINNEAPOLIS — Relatives and family friends came together quickly when five young girls disappeared in the Twin Cities. They posted fliers, used social media and email and walked the streets in their frantic search for the girls who failed to come home from Seward Montessori School Monday afternoon.
There were tears and hugs as the girls, ages 11 to 13, were reunited with their families Tuesday night. The girls had hatched a plan to run away, not realizing that their disappearance would attract such attention.
Two of the girls made a call from a St. Paul house Tuesday night and wanted to come home.
The three other girls were still out on the street, but relatives caught up with them in a parking lot near the State Capitol.
