MINNEAPOLIS — A Minneapolis businessman who took a customer’s Lamborghini on a late night joyride has pleaded guilty to charges and will be sentenced in December.
David Juntunen wrecked the lawyer’s 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo that he was entrusted with storing. Juntunen admitted his guilt in court Monday to insurance fraud and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Juntunen, who calls himself “Superdave,” owns Top Gear Autoworks in Minneapolis. Juntunen and a female companion took the $200,000 car out for a speedy spin one night in March 2012 and crashed into several trees and two light poles. The crash caused an estimated $82,000 in damage. Juntunen filed an insurance claim for the damage, saying his companion was driving the car from a storage barn to the Minneapolis business.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 11.
