GENEVA – A 24-year-old Winona man was injured Friday afternoon after an all-terrain vehicle rolled over and landed on top of him north of Freeborn County Road 35 west of Geneva.

Shawn Michael Nicol was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Keith Bolinger with the Sheriff’s Office said Nicol was a passenger in the ATV, and the driver and a second passenger were not injured. The names of the other two people involved were not available as of press time.

Nicol reportedly fell off the ATV as it was turning in a grassy field, after which it rolled over, landing on top of him, Bolinger said.

The crash was reported at 3:05 p.m.
