St. Casimir Women

St. Casimir Women attended the Winona Diocese Catholic Council of Women biennial convention on Oct. 5 at St. Catherine’s parish in Luverne. Attending were Katie Koziolek, Helen Herman, Helen Tatarek and Sharon Schultz.

The women took the parish contribution toward missions of quilts, children’s clothing and bandages that the sewing circle had made.

Speakers were Senior Dr. Marie Paul Locherd, a religious sister practicing at Jackson specializing in women’s health and Winona, and diocese bishop John Quinn.

Locherd shared the research on the link between breast cancer risks and abortion.

Quinn spoke on “Remaining Christian in a Secular World.”

Koziolek received the bishop’s medal for service to parish and diocesan council of Catholic Women.
