ST. PAUL — A high school athlete and his family have gone to federal court in Minnesota to challenge the teen’s suspension from sports, claiming his tweet about “drilling” his teammates was not a terroristic threat.
Shakopee High School varsity wrestler Tyson Leon argues his suspension will ruin his chances at a Division 1 college scholarship.
The 16-year-old has been suspended from sports three previous times for various offenses. He was suspended a fourth time after he sent a tweet before a football scrimmage that he was going to “drill” his teammates.
