Kathleen Severson, 82, Peoria, Ariz.

Kathleen Ann Severson died on Oct. 28, 2013, at Banner Hospice in Peoria, Ariz. Her husband, Lyle, daughter, Laurie, and sister, Sharon, were by her side before she left her to be with the Lord. She was a summer resident of Pelican Lake, Pelican Rapids, and a winter resident in Peoria going on 26 years.
Kathleen was born on Oct. 23, 1931, to Roy and Mayme Jensen in Albert Lea. She attended and graduated from high school in Albert Lea.
Kathleen went on to complete her nurses training at Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis.
On May 17, 1953, Kathleen and Lyle Severson were united in marriage and lived in Breckenridge before moving to Pelican Rapids where they lived and raised their family.
Kathleen had many talents. She enjoyed music and dancing, beautiful lake views, but mostly family. Her many areas of interest include oil painting and ceramics, square dancing, singing with the Sweet Adeline’s, sewing beautiful clothes and she was an avid reader.
She will be remembered by her numerous friends and family.
Family survivors include her husband of 60 years, Lyle; children Corbin (Kendall) Severson of Los Angeles, Calif., Lynn (Tim) Meyer of Roseville, Craig Severson (Carmen Rick) of Pelican Rapids, Clark (Jeriann) Severson of Irvine, Calif., and Laurie (Michael) Mahaney of Prior Lake; sister, Sharon Brua of Albert Lea; grandchildren Amber, James, Jonathan, Joy, Olivia and Carson; a great-grandson, Ethan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Mayme Jensen.
A celebration of life will be on Nov. 10 in Paradise RV Resort in Peoria followed by a memorial service in Pelican Rapids in the spring or summer of 2014. Interment will be at Ringsaker Cemetery at a later date.
