Street lights to be installed on Broadway

Published 1:36 pm Saturday, November 16, 2013

Construction crews are scheduled to begin the installation of the decorative street lights along Broadway on Tuesday. The street lights are one of the final components remaining in the Broadway reconstruction.

The street light installation is scheduled to start at Main Street and proceed to the north. It is estimated that the work in each block of Broadway will take two days, during which time the block under construction will be closed to traffic and parking.

The street will be re-opened in the evenings, and access to businesses will be maintained at all times. The Broadway intersections at Main Street, William Street, Clark Street and Water Street will all remain open while the lights are being installed.

The tentative schedule for the street light installation is as follows:

• Main Street to William Street: Tuesday and Wednesday

• William Street to Clark Street: Thursday and Friday

• Clark Street to Water Street: Nov. 25 and 26

• Water Street to Fountain Street: Nov. 27

Since construction schedules can vary depending on weather and other factors, the schedules and sequence of construction are subject to change. Property owners on Broadway Avenue will be notified in advance of the work starting on their block.
