GARY — Both drivers are dead after their cars collided head-on in northwestern Minnesota.

The State Patrol said the crash happened Thursday afternoon on Highway 32 north of Gary.

James Bateson of Gary and 76-year-old Doris Hanson of Brooks were killed.

The patrol said Hanson was driving southbound when she swerved into the northbound lane and collided with Bateson’s car.

According to the patrol, the surface of the two-lane highway was dry.
