An Ellendale woman was seriously injured Wednesday in a four-vehicle crash south of Winona.
Kelsey C. Stolt, 22, was reportedly driving a 2006 Chevy Cobalt southbound on Minnesota Highway 43 when she was struck head-on by a small school bus.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Stolt, a 2009 Albert Lea High School graduate, was transported to Winona Health. Her condition is unknown.
The report stated the bus swerved into the southbound lane and collided with Stolt’s car after it was sideswiped by a 1999 Chevy Cavalier driving southbound.
The Cavalier was driven by Jeffrey L. William, 56, of Winona, and the bus was driven by Dennis E. Becker, 64, of Winona.
After sideswiping the bus, the Cavalier then struck a 2004 Buick Regal, driven by Jacob M. Kalis, 28, of Lewiston, driving northbound, according to the report.
A 7-year-old boy, who was the only student on the bus, suffered minor cuts and scrapes. The other drivers suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
The crash happened just before 7 a.m. It forced the closure of Highway 43.
