Glenville-Emmons is off to fast start

The Glenville-Emmons boys’ basketball team already has half as many wins as it has all of last season.

The Wolverines’ (3-1 overall, 1-0 Southeast Conference) latest victory was a 57-54 comeback win on Saturday at Cleveland.

After trailing by four points at halftime, Glenville-Emmons outscored Cleveland 30-23 in the second half.

Gavin Allison led the Wolverines with 16 points. He also added seven rebounds and three assists. Aaron Dempewolf and Marshal Hall both scored in double digits and helped Glenville-Emmons create a balanced attack.

Wolverines head coach Jared Matson is in his second year at the helm, and he is assisted by Jeff Jimenez and Jake Villarreal.

Next, Glenville-Emmons will play at Mabel-Canton at 7:15 p.m. Friday.
