Larry A. Waltz, 69, of rural Austin died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was born Sept. 7, 1944, in Albert Lea, to Archie and Ivy (Brandes) Waltz. He grew up in Clarks Grove. After graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1962, Larry began farming with his dad. He showed sheep and greatly enjoyed farming. On April 22, 1978, Larry married Vickie Wilcox at Crane Community Chapel in Austin. He especially loved the time he spent with his family and friends.

Larry is survived by his wife, Vickie Waltz, of rural Austin; his nephew Joel (Diane) Lunning of Plymouth, Wis.; and many other wonderful relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Ivy Waltz; his sister, Arlene Lunning; and his aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crane Community Chapel with the Rev. Dale Christianson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Worlein Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to recipient of donor’s choice. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
