A garage was reported on fire at 21130 880th Ave., southwest of Oakland, at 2:38 a.m. today. No other information was available as of press time.

A cooking fire was reported at 12:59 a.m. Sunday in an apartment at 121 1/2 N. Broadway. There was minimal damage.

A fire was reported on a porch at 1:29 a.m. Sunday at 221 S. Pearl St. According to the Albert Lea Fire Department, the fire was contained to the porch and is believed to have started by careless smoking. The family living there was evacuated and was assisted by the American Red Cross in staying overnight at a local motel.
