Salvation Army donations doubled today and Saturday

The Albert Lea Salvation Army announced Thursday that all donations made today and Saturday will be doubled.
Salvation Army Capt. Jim Brickson said it is possible by a small group of anonymous donors who pooled together $2 million for matching funds in Minnesota and North Dakota.
“No matter how you donate — at a kettle, online, by phone or in person — every dollar you give will be matched,” Brickson said. “This matching opportunity is both amazing and historic.”
Kettle donors are encouraged snap pictures of themselves showing the peace sign — what the Salvation Army is calling “a sign of northland generosity” — and post them to social media using #double.
