Deborah Sue Weite, 61 of Staples, lost her battle with multiple sclerosis on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at her home. Services for Deborah will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Motley Free Methodist Church in Motley with the Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Debbie was born on Sept. 12, 1952, at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea to Henry Clay and Faye Arlene (Bothum) Nelson. She married Paul Weite on Aug. 29, 1970, in Hayward. Debbie worked at the Staples Care Center as a nurse’s aide and at Helling’s Super Value. She enjoyed antiques, crafts and gardening. She was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Paul; children Tera (Brian Gode) Weite of Sauk Rapids, Eddie (Jen Fietek) Weite of Staples, Jeff (Dawn) Weite of Leader and Holly (Jace) Carlson of Motley; grandchildren Dylan, Jacob, Samantha, Travis, Austin, Jack, Kelsie, Logen, Zachary and Jordon, Garrett; one great-grandchild, Brayden; sister, Cynthia (Bob) Armon of Hayward; brothers Hal Nelson of Glenville and Scott Nelson of Hayward; and brother-in-law, Galen Christensen of Clarks Grove.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Faye Nelson; sisters Patricia Nelson and Linda Christensen. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
