Deloris Peterson, 75, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Deloris M. “Dee” Peterson of Albert Lea, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea and one hour before services at the church. Deloris donated her body to Mayo Foundation for medical research.
Interment will be at a later date in Lakewood Cemetery in Albert Lea.
Deloris died on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. She was 75.
She was born on March 15, 1938, in Geneva Township, the daughter of Linn “Mac” and Elaine (Hemmingway) McGinnis.
Dee graduated from Albert Lea High School. She married Kent E. Peterson, and they made their home in Albert Lea. She had worked at Northpark and various other businesses in the area.
She was proud to have been a mentor for kids through a Freeborn County program. Dee was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crafts, decorating, painting and doll collecting. She will be remembered as an awesome caregiver who was always taking care of others.
Dee is survived by her son, Rodney Peterson (Denise) of Albert Lea; grandson, Randy Peterson (Lorelei) and son, Isaiah, of Albert Lea; grandson Brandon Peterson; great-granddaughter, Bailey, of Albert Lea; grandson Jared Gavle, of Minneapolis; granddaughter, Jasmine Gavle, of Mankato; and sisters Julie (Scott) Borg and Donna Smith.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kent, in 2011; son, Randy Peterson in 1979; and brother, Merle McGinnis.
The family expresses great appreciation to St. John’s and the staff for all the tender loving care Dee received.
