Eric Lindquist, 37, Shakopee

Eric M. Lindquist, 37, of Shakopee, formerly of Austin and Madelia, died in an ice fishing accident.
Born in Austin, Eric was a 1994 graduate of New Ulm High School and a 2004 graduate of Minnesota State University-Mankato. He was a long-haul trucker for the past eight years, mostly with Swift Transportation, Phoenix, Ariz. He enjoyed snowmobiling and ATVs, skiing, fishing, boating and hiking. As a youth he excelled in basketball, baseball, tennis and track and also played football and soccer.
He is survived by mother, Joan Lindquist of Grand Forks; father, Bruce Lindquist of Shakopee; grandmothers Arlene Lindquist of St. Louis Park, Esther Vandervort of Crookston; uncles and aunts, Ken (Patty) Lindquist of Crystal, and Arlo (Hanna) Lindquist of Corcoran, Wayne and Sandy Vandervort, both of Crookston; cousins and friends.
