Chimney fire reported

A chimney fire was reported at a house at 33261 875th Ave., Blooming Prairie, at 1:49 a.m. Saturday. Blooming Prairie and Geneva firefighters responded. No other information was available as of press time.

 

Man arrested for burglary, assault

Albert Lea police arrested David Kenneth Nelson, 33, for first-degree burglary, stalking and assault at 11:59 p.m. Sunday at 910 Luther Place.

 

School bus in crash; no one injured

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a school bus at 3:46 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Freeborn County roads 74 and 71. No one was injured.

The report stated there were kids on the bus at the time of the crash, and they had to be transferred to a different bus.

 

Gas drive-off reported

A gas drive-off was reported at 23087 State Highway 13 at 4:08 a.m. today. About $32 in gas was taken. The vehicle was described as being a dark blue Chrysler with South Dakota plates.

 

Shed in Alden broken into

A shed was reported gone through at 2:17 p.m. Friday at 17898 650th Ave., Alden. Nothing was taken.

 

Vehicles rummaged through

A vehicle was reported rummaged through at 7:05 a.m. Friday at 608 Freeborn Ave. This was reportedly the third time this had happened. There was no damage, and nothing was taken.

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in front of the post office in Hartland, 507 Broadway, at 4:19 p.m. Friday. The incident reportedly took place Dec. 26.

 

Car fire reported

A car fire was reported in a garage at 203 E. Richway Drive at 9:17 a.m. Saturday.

 

Possible burglary reported

Albert Lea received a report at 9:49 p.m. Saturday of a possible burglary at 406 Meredith Road. The homeowner reported when he came home he found the door open. The house was checked and appeared to be fine.

 

Man arrested for violations

Albert Lea police arrested Nathan Hugo Torres, 20, for driving after revocation, obstructing and a small amount of marijuana after a traffic stop at 130 W. College St. at 12:06 a.m. Sunday.
