BISMARCK, N.D. — North Dakota political leaders are making a path to the office of BNSF Railway officials in Texas.
Sens. Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven and Gov. Jack Dalrymple are meeting separately with BNSF Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Matthew Rose as part of their trip to Texas to watch the North Dakota State football team in the national championship.
They are talking with Rose about the train derailment in Casselton.
No one was hurt in Monday’s crash and fire, which happened when a train carrying soybeans derailed in front of a train hauling crude oil from western North Dakota on an adjacent track.
The politicians said they want to find out about cleanup efforts and what the company is doing to prevent future accidents.
BNSF is headquartered in Fort Worth.
