ST. PAUL — State agencies have proposed adding nine polluted locations to the list of Minnesota superfund sites while removing the Minneapolis impound lot.

The impound lot just west of downtown was a dump before the 1960s. It was added to the list in 1986. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency says the city has conducted cleanup work there since the late 1980s and it no longer poses a threat to health or the environment.

The nine sites proposed to be added to the superfund list are scattered across the state.
