Area dental professionals donate care to children

Children received free dental care at Main Street Dental Clinic in New Richland and Blooming Prairie Saturday as part of the Give Kids a Smile program. — Submitted

Approximately 60 children received free teeth cleanings, checkups, fillings, sealants or extractions on Saturday at Main Street Dental Clinic in New Richland and Blooming Prairie, according to a news release.

As part of the Give Kids A Smile program, coordinated by the Minnesota Dental Association, thousands of dental professionals across the state work to put healthy smiles on the faces of Minnesota’s children.

Along with the satisfaction of helping children protect and restore their dental health, volunteers are gratified to see so many beautiful smiles, the release stated.

Main Street Dental Clinics have been providing free dental care for children for 11 years.

Twenty-six staff members and five dentists volunteered their time on Saturday.

The group thanked the local businesses for donations to make it a successful day.
