The Cannon City Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Faribault Senior Center, 19 W Division St.

The speaker will be Tom Hosier of Rochester. Hosier will speak on the personality of Lorenzo in 1861 and how he was challenged with the ramifications of the South seceding from the Union. Hosier is the past president of the Winona and Rochester Civil War Round Tables, president of the Wood Lake Battlefield Preservation Association and president of the Minnesota Veterans & Emergency Services Museum Committee.
